wedding part 2

so the wedding and dinner went great! the bride and groom, my cousin G and his now wife C, both loved it, and so did all their guests. we had a total of 24 guests, all family of the bride or groom except their best friend who performed the ceremony and his girlfriend. the dinner cooked by our grandmother was delicious! and huge, of course. G bought loads of cheese and crackers, all kinds of fancy stuff, and had that out for snacks while people were arriving. for the meal, we did 3 bean salad, red beet/tuna salad, tossed salad with oil+vinegar, and rolls for the first course. then it was vegetarian white lasagna with zuchini and cheese, made by the bride and her friend. and for the main course it was roast pork with roasted potatoes, made seperatley for us vegetarians, and homemade gravy, with fancy green beans with almonds on the side. the bride's family brought the cake, it was a 3 layer strawberries and cream torte, and by far the most delicious weddint cake i have ever had.
grandmother rented three round tables, 24 chairs, 3 round gold tablecloths, a red rectangular table cloth for the cake/coffee table, 24 red cloth napkins, and a full set of china, white with a single gold band. this included: a large, medium, and small plate, a stemmed water glass, a medium wine glass, a coffee cup and saucer, a cake plate, a salad fork, a dinner fork, a knife, and a spoon. for each table, she got: 3 serving platters, one for meat, one for potatoes, and one for lasagna. 2 serving bowls, one was used for rolls, and one was used for tuna/beet salad. a gravy boat for each table, a butter dish and 2 butter spreaders.
there were 6 large potted mums in each of the three wedding colors of red, white, and yellow. these were aranged on the edge of the area where the ceremony was held. then there were three small potted mums in each color, one for each centerpiece.
I arranged the tables very elegantly, with layered plates toppped by napkins folded into a rose-like shape.
i also had the duty of photographer, and got loads of great pictures with G's new camera! i'll definitley post some of the tables and such when i get them from him.
all in all, it was a beautiful day, and perfect for such wonderful cousins! everyone was happy and well fed, and G + C loved it! i got lots of compliments on my tables, and grandmother on her food. i was exhausted by the time it was over!

wedding part 1

Well, my mom and I are going to my grandmother + pop-pop's house sometime this week for my cousin G + his betrothed C's wedding! Then it will be back up here Saturday for the reception. I am really looking forward to spending some family time with everyone, I don't see them all nearly as often as I should. G and C asked me to take pictures for their wedding, I am so complemented that they think I am good enough to do that! I'll write more about the wedding and post some pics when I can. Love!

Reasons.

Reasons I shouldn't start a blog:

  • I am terrible at keeping up with regular entries.
  • It is highly possible I will forget my login password and this account will rot in the depths of abandoned sites.
  • I am too ADD to write about one or a few topics;
  • Therefore I will write about so many different random things, anyone but me will just be confused by reading it.
  • I am really not that good at writing.
  • Nothing ever happens to me that anyone else will be interested in.
Reasons I am starting a blog anyway:
  • I need practice writing.
  • I like the idea of having a blog.
  • Maybe it will motivate me to do things worthy of writing about.
  • Whenever I try to start a physical real life journal, it gets lost/wet/eaten by my dogs/accidentally put into storage for years.
  • I want to! That is a great reason.
